The Sandbox Resort started with a piece of land at the foot of Mt. Kenya and a conviction that Kenya deserved a world-class outdoor adventure experience — one that felt genuinely African, not imported.
Every structure, every course, every element of the experience has been designed with the environment in mind. We use local materials. We employ local people. We operate on solar where we can. The forest we're in is part of the experience, not a backdrop to it.
We built this for the Kenyan market first. For the families in Nanyuki who need something to do on weekends. For the corporate team in Nairobi who needs a genuine away-day. For the traveller passing through who wants something more than a game drive.
We're at the beginning. The high ropes, zip line, giant swing, sky bikes and Smoke Pit are phase one. eBike tours, glamping, and more are already in the works. Come now, while the site still smells like fresh timber.
